I love jackdaws, they are very cool "crows" and I wish we had them here in North America. Every bit as smart as other corvids, but smaller birds, piercing white eyes and gorgeous contrasting grey on black plumage. They are supposedly selling some chicks this year from the corvid ranch, I'd love to have one if 1) I was in the USA and 2) if I had the time to look after one the way they require. Still wish they were found here though, simply to watch, observe and photograph.

Thanks for this lovely video Brad! The jackdaw reminds me so much of our tame little visitor last year. I have since found out that the lady who lived at the top of the road with the ducks and the tame white pigeon, did hand-rear him. They have since moved house (I think) but the ducks are still there. I don't see the white pigeon anymore so I am hoping they took it with them. Odd that they left the ducks though if this is the case.
Jackdaws are indeed interesting intelligent birds and I miss our little visitor very much. Thanks so much for sharing the video.

You're welcome Lindi, I'm very glad you enjoyed the video.
I never forgot the "jack" that found you and was always interested in what he did next. They are truly incredible and highly sensitive/intelligent birds.
It's hard for those who haven't cared for or befriended a member of the corvidae family to truly understand the charisma and charm of these feathered beings. They are truly in a class all their own BUT also an integral part of the biosphere we call Earth.
