If perfection isn't what you're looking for or a special breed, then it's worth while to check out some of these establishments to find a pigeon that may very well become a very sweet and lovable pet! Normally these facilities will require a background check and a small fee for processing, but these are good alternatives to finding a pigeon & also provides the bird with a good forever home. 
When I watch my two happily settled and well-cared for, I am reminded of, and thankful to the people who rescued them so that they could be given the chance of a new life that both would surely have lost without assistance when they needed it most. I would like to think that any pigeons I might acquire in the future will be those that need adopted for whatever reason.
