Anyone know where to find Milo seeds, the little red ones. Dotty likes them more than the other seeds and the bulk store mix has a few of them only.

It's weird how almost all the birds I've had or rehabed seemed to love the red seeds and would pick them out first thing too!

Do you have access to a car? I get mine from Bragg's Feed in Bowmanville. It's out in the country and would be about a 30 minute drive from Ajax. This is the only place I know around here that sells them and in separate bags. I have 3/4 of a 10lb bag of them at home right now, you could have some if you want.

Were you able to make the trip to Bragg's and get the red milo? It's quite out there in the "country" and not easy to find if you've never been there before. Let me know if you were able to make the trip and get your seeds.

When you said the "country" it made me think of summer or spring and
then reality hit me that it's winter out there, either way I'll try to
schedule a new opportunity to make the trip and see what this place is
all about, it sounds nice from what you're saying and the website
looked promising!

I was supposed to go on thursday, but then it was new years of course on friday

It was hard to drive on new years and everything was closed anyway even though I went to get a starbucks.

Got my seeds today at Braggs. I was amazed how much pigeon things they have, just about everything I used to order from siegel's.

Got red milo, grit (the mixed ones with oyster shells) and a big sack of summer pigeon mix. $42 .. not bad! Very close and convenient, I'm so happy.

As a matter of fact today was so lovely that I took the opportunity to make a day trip out of it and went as far as Cobourg and back. So many lovely little towns along the way with antiques and such, had a wonderful time!

I am glad you found the place and got your seeds. They do have quite a few things, but not so much in terms of medicines though. It is a nice trip however and it sounds like you had a lovely day of it.

Forgot to ask you but...did you run into the family dog while pulling up there? lol They have this very old, half blind Labrador that always greets everyone upon arrival. He's a very sweet dog and I always give him a couple of extra pats on the back for being so "welcoming".

Omg, lol!! YES! At first we had no idea where the entrance was, then I saw this big dog come around but he seemed calm and showed us the entrance, the man there was nice and said hi then I met up with him again inside where he said he was sure they were out of the red milo and white was only available but then he said "Oh no, we got two bags" so I took one.

Hehe, nice family! Do they own the entire property/farm and do you have any idea what they do? Bird seed? .. I didn't know the doggie was blind, poor him but glad he has good loving owners.

As far as I know that family owns the property and I think they make their living from farming and selling their products. The dog is only blind in one eye I think and quite old. He's a good dog though.

That's very interesting Brad. They're definitely my go to place for seeds and pigeon products from now on.
