I think he took that picture while he was at the Baltimore Aquarium.
They have something like a rain forest exhibit if I remember correctly.
Its been years since I have been there.
Me and my wife used to skip school together and go there when we were in high school

They are widespread is Australasia, Ranging from Pakistan to Sri Lanka, east to Indonesia, and as far south as as the rain forests of Queensland, Australia, and sometimes even further south into NSW and Victoria. They are a common site in EVERY zoo in Australia, there is even a bird park nere my country town that, when I visited a couple of years ago, had a flock in a HUGE aviary.
Here are some other pretty Aussie doves and Pigeons
Common Bronzewing Pigeon

Spinifex Pigeon

Crested Pigeon

Peaceful Dove

Diamond Dove

Topknot pigeon

Wompoo Fruit-Dove

Wonga pigeon

Sorry there are so many, I got a little carried away

Hi Hannah, they are incredibly beautiful and so many!!!! I regret that when I lived in Australia (1978-1980) I was not aware of them. Thanks a lot for taking the trouble to show a few of them to us.

Wow plamenh,
Those are gorgeous. To bad we can't them here in America, I would have a few pair.
I love the last one. Looks like a pigeon and a hawk all in one!
