    Why pigeon? Something about the beak and eyes makes me think dove.

    Just to flip the coin - while it's miraculous that they've found new species, I can't help but wonder how many species has humanity wiped out that we never even knew about?

    Well, Cyreen, pigeons are known as Rock DOVES...then, again, I hear what you are saying. The beak IS more "dove" like! BEAUTIFUL bird AND interesting creatures!
