In this video, Sophie decides she wants a bath. If I don't take her hints, she jumps in Maestro's water bowl until I fill her bath tub for her. To save time, I go to work on that right away. She likes to sit on my shoulder and supervise while I am filling. As you can see, she also likes me to help her reach the more difficult places so she gets clean all over. After her bath, I usually dry her with her towel, but it was exceedingly difficult to do all these things with one hand on the video recorder. Suffice to say, she enjoyed her bath and is now a very clean pigeon.

There are many spoiled pigeons out there, but I think that the lovely Sophie takes a well-deserved First!

However, Bill, a word of warning...don't let Sophie forget how to take a bath! Heck, all she has to do is just stand, lift one wing then the other, one leg then the other and her "bath" comes to her!

Folks, these videos are perfect for showing "How To Train Your Human!" The lovely Sophie has done a magnificent job!!

LOL.....this pigeon is spoiled rotten, even has her own personalized towel with initials sewn it!.....hehehehehe. She's also quite the dainty little bather compared to mine who thrash and throw water EVERYWHERE! Mine make such a mess that I have to mop the floor and use extra towels to soak up the water.

Yes! Even Squeaks makes more of a mess! Then, again, I am not giving him a "private" bath!

For one thing, we're not married and it's because you're spoiled enough already and you already know how to splash yourself good. Remember how you said you have to 'sling that water high enough to get over the rump?' Yeah, you do a good enough job of that on your own without my help. The floor's soaked afterwards.

I really enjoyed your video. I went thru and looked at some of your others on utube. You really have a neat little bird there. I wish we could keep our little one in the house all the time but we have carpet upstairs and she follows us upstairs if we go up there. How often do you need to change that pj diaper? You have done a great job with her!

@BeatleMike--When Sophie is garbed in her PGWear, I have found it's okay to leave it on for up to 8 hours before changing. Since she has 6 different ones, I just use a new one, but one could also conceivably just change the liner and reuse the same PGWear again immediately. I usually put a fresh one on her first thing in the morning (5:30-6:00am) and then change it around 2:00pm. If we're going to be up late, I may change it again in the evening. I never have her sleep in the PGWear, so she is au naturel from bedtime until waking me up for her breakfast. Of course, if there is a reason to change it sooner, then I do so. Hope this helps.

My 1/4th fantail pigeon "Jasper" is training me to give him a bath because he just refuses to take one on his own...and now he also wants a special towell just for him...he does not seem to want his "showpiece" wet (fantail) and I take great pleasure in bathing it...really bathing it..c.hert

Garye, Maggie the pigeon---keep asking Garye for that monograph towel and maybe by the holiday season or your birthday you just might get one--growl a lot and really make a lot of noise because this will get his attention...I wish that I could roll away on the floor and dry natural in the sun but my age it is just toooo difficult to get up standing once again....c.hert
