Hi,
I've been looking at sites about Modena pigeons, when I bought my first two pair I was told they were Modenas, None of my pigeons look like the Modena pigeons on the sites. I have posted a number of photos of them in my gallery, in recent pic of the day and in my posts. Could anyone tell me if they are Modena or not?
To my mind they are but maybe not competition grade. The Modena have a great history and I wondered if the breed were once a bit less boat tailed and puffy breasted and that they are specifically tailored by breeders to get to this shape for shows

Some of my birds have a bit of a stickie up tail but none have the big chest that the beak rests on. Any idea's or info any one?
Regards Neil
P.S. I'm kinda glad they look like they doo, just curious as to why the young lad that sold them to me would say they were if they were something else. I'm sure it's just the show breed versus the common or garden Modena???
