This canary will not get off the feed dish and the finch is sitting now next to her so you know what I did I took them all away and put tiny containers of food around the cage. Now they are both standing and looking like normal birds instead of laying in the feed dish all day. I tried to cover these feed dishes but that did not work now now lets see what they do next and I just know they will outsmart me..No they are not laying eggs just very very lazy birdies and I sure want them both to get proper exercise..

Good thinking c.hert! I'm glad that Peekaboo is no longer spending all her time sitting in the seed dish, lol. These pictures are MUCH better and clearer! Lovely little birds, all 4 of them!

Nice photos c.hert, It looks like you have got your camera figured out.

Not figured out just yet and I am sure it has to do with light but when I get the settings I will share them with you....not just yet for that corner of the room is darker and it just might be that and of course our birdies move and that might be it as well....but I am working on this....I did change the top setting from Smart capture ot A (Aperture) and pressed the focus smalll button and next I am going to try (Sport). Also I have been fooling around with the zoom lever... I need to check out (SCN) scene because it says that it is point and shoot simplicity when taking pictures under special conditions and I think that I read back dimness somewhere??????.. Still working on it and the numbers I have changed but forgot where I was....???????? I will let you know the final change and see the pictures....lol lol Having fun..

Peekaboo is moulting in the middle of winter (crazy bird) I am going to get her some molting and conditioning food for I tell you this is a high maintenance birdie.. She is doing wonderful and really does like her female finch friend Margie and they are two peas in a pod. She is out of nesting stage and has sang a 4 note song not to me but to Margie..everything is good but right now as I am writing this she is taking a bath in her water dish--such a bird--such a bird...high maintenance I tell you

Well I have done everything to persuade Peekaboo not to lay eggs and got her Margie a female finch for company to keep her busy. Well they have been busy and right now the two of them are laying side by side in the seed dish (clear) that I covered up so that they could not get in there to nest but I see they managed to get in there and right now there are 5 white eggs (finch) and two blue ones (canary) and they are massaging each others heads with their beaks. So there is a old saying : "If you can't beat them then join them". So move over Peekaboo and Margie for I want to lay an egg too.....

LOL c.hert! Yep, may as well join Margie and Peekaboo and start laying some eggs yourself! Better yet, start refrigerating and collecting them to feed to your worker guys when they come over next. LOL

They sound like such sweet birds and I bet they look adorable sitting in their nest together.
