    Mr. Squeaks update 2.1.11

Post  nbdyuknow on Tue Feb 01, 2011 10:59 pm

Well, first let me say everything they are saying on the news is true--I have never seen a storm like this. I cannot even see the end of my driveway from the house. The snow is coming down at more than 3" per hour, the wind is blowing steadily at over 50 mph, and there is even thunder and lightning. I do not know how long we will have power, many trees are blowing down. Wow.

Anyway, Mr. Squeaks is doing great. He has been spending his time out and about in the house, exploring everything. He is no longer nervous, just very curious and relaxed. Here he is visiting the library:

Mostly, he has been spending his time nuzzling my feet, wherever I am (in this instance, under my desk, note the feathers):

He and Sophie haven't really interacted, they just kind of ignore each other, but when he doesn't think she is looking, he does stop to check her out:

Tonight, though, he finally decided he was ready to switch to "Daddy mode" and sit in his basket on his egg. He LOVES to ring the bell while he sits on the egg. I mean, he rings the bell almost CONSTANTLY. But, at least he is enjoying himself. : )

Well, that's about all for now. Hope everyone is staying warm.

    Bill B.

That Mr. Squeaks is quite a character and I am so glad you have him and keep us updated. Is that his natural thing to sit on a egg and ring a bell for amusement? I love the pictures and thanks for the nice update about he and Sophie..enjoyed.. I love you I love you sunny

It looks like Mr. Squeaks takes comfort in your feet. Smile Maggie doesn't have a bell but she does like to nibble my finger.

Well at least Mr. Squeaks is checking out Sophia every now and then, so there's hope in that direction.

Tired of the snow. Just wish it would end.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for this latest update on Squeaks! Smile He is such a cutie and has sure taken a liking to you and your slippers! Very Happy It's just like Shi always said about him going into "daddy mode" and ringing that bell! hilarious I wonder why he gets that strong urge to sit? He is a tad unusual that way for a male pigeon. Eggbert was such a non paternal parent it wasn't funny! Rolling Eyes

Hopefully no more snow for you and everyone is all hunkered down and warm at your household! Smile

I wonder if Bill is into Crime Pathology or Forensics. That library of his looks like an excellent reference place for forensics. Notice he has a Dyson - I do too! Great vacuum cleaner!

Great to read the update Bill. Looks like all is well with Sophie & her new house mate! cheers

How the snow hasn't got you too stuck, we have 4- 5 ft. drifts in the driveway so no traveling for us.

I saw the report on tv about the snow there...just hope you do not loose power...hopefully that storm is going to miss us... Faints

    Thanks for the update !!!!

Fantastic news and photos of MR Squeaks in his new home with you and Sophie! cheers He looks very settled and happy and I am most pleased that he has you and a wonderful home environment to help ease his loss of Shi. I'm missing Shi so much and think of her all the time. Sad I am most thankful that her precious pigeons have been adopted by such special forum friends and that we can all enjoy regular heartwarming updates and photos of them. sunny Shi was most fond of you Bill as you know and I know that she would be so very happy that Squeaks is being loved and fussed over as much as Sophie The Pigeon in your home. Feed pigeon

I hope you are all doing ok with the severe winter storms over there Bill. So much snow!!! Shocked Faints

Yes, happy to see that you are a Dyson man too! Razz Cracking good hoovers, especially for pet owners! May I suggest the little hand-held Dyson for those quick seed and feather clean-ups without having to drag Daddy Dyson out. I got one for the loft as a present and it's great. Wink
