My hen pigeon who was found injured by a cat and was given antibiotics injections by a vet - but I think the dose was too small- has respiratory problems. She had rattling sounds from her back, I am giving her Ciprofloxacin for 11 days and the sounds reduced but she is breathing too frequently - 60 in minute. I read that Ciprofloxacin can be given with metronidazole. The vet adviced to give very small dose of it - one tablet in 500ml of water and to give 2 drops of this solution. I give this to her for one day before antibiotics and I am afraid that metronidazole will not work after that because of adaptation. Lena

I believe that will be fine and one is for canker and the second one is for secondary things that might be started in her system. They will work together for a good result. You need to keep that pigeon on the antibiotics because of the cat bite for that is very dangerous for pigeons and the bacteria in the cat saliva can kill a bird really quick.
