Hi Wila , I've been flying different types of pigeons for many years, in 1990 I started with Rollers. I had them until 03, and at that time had to sell them because of health issues. I've never found color (body or eye color) to make a difference in their performance. I've been very fortunate to have friends give me matted pairs (of all different color's) ,that produced quality rollers. If you have a pair of rollers that breeds you 100% keepers (click pairs) , you should NEVER break them up. Use their offspring as stock birds. I would never break up a pair and try again. Getting the genes to line up in such a way that nearly all of the young possess them in the right order, for good rolling is very difficult to get.
I think that the shape of the wing to be more important. When I look at a rollers wing, I look for long primaries, the last four should be narrow the full length of the shaft. The secondaries should be shorter than the primaries and angled toward the body, not so long as to overlap the body when the wing is closed, wing butts pronounced. Hope this help's
