Here's an interesting short video from National Geographic that shows the different animals who are hungry for eggs...OSTRICH EGGS! Nothing explicit or disturbing in this video as the ostrich abandoned it's nest/egg, but the various predators attempt to make a meal out of this 3lb prize.

Wow, that last bird was GIGANTIC!!!
I know this is how nature works, but I'm not a big fan.
Just seems unfair that the little guys had to do all the work and the big guy gets the prize.....sigh*
Thanks for sharing...interesting!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It looks like someone needed to take that big fella down a notch or two.

Looked like the small Vulture and the Hawk would have gotten along alright, if with some gentle assertions or tugs.
That larger Vulture was indeed a BIG Boy...wow...
Isn't it odd how so many Scientists cannot bring themselves to recognise problem-solving skills and demonstrations of intelligence, of other Species, or do so only grudgingly, saying it is 'instinct'.
That's very un-sientific of them.
I wish they would explain how 'instint' would exist without 'intelligence', and, how 'intelligence' would exist without 'instinct', in any Species for that matter, as well as to distinguish the two carefully with regard to themselves and our Species.
I do not find their ways of looking at things to be very realistic or careful...or Scientific.
I'd like to do a little Video of a Scientists eating-an-egg...noting, how his use of anything is not 'intelligence', or, that appearances of problem solving skills, are but mere instinct mediated by unconscious artifacts of introjective and normative cultural legacy...
