Very, very pretty! Although I have a soft spot for the ferals, I really enjoy seeing how beautiful the fancier breeds can be.

Nice pics
Interesting to see how Nuns have progressed. I had a few of them over the years and they had simple but well developed shell crests. It looks as if they have nearly a full mane or something similar to Capuchin or Jacobin. Another Tumbler developed to an extreme for show and they are certainly showy.

I don't mean that you have to enter them in a show, just show them here. They are beautiful and unusual birds. If you'd like to enter them in a show, by all means, try it sometime. It is kinda fun and you get to meet a bunch of goofy pigeon folks like us. I only showed pigeons once and two of my birds won their classes. I still have the trophy from somewhere in the 70's but it didn't mean enough to me to keep showing. The trophy was for best rare breed which was won by a Black White Bar Silesian Swallow OH. The other was best Norwich Cropper (a young black hen) but not best pouter in show, so no trophy.
I'm not a real show person but I like show quality, if that makes any sense. I'm just happy to know that I have good stock no matter what animal or plant I'm dealing with. I used to raise alot of Tall Bearded Irises and went to an Iris show to see what they had. The next year, I entered some of mine in the show and won the entire show and 3 classes with 4 entries. I actually felt bad, as I was fairly young (in my 30's) and I beat all of these little old ladies and older guys who were members of every association and garden club in the area. It was just strange and I never took home my trophy which was to be with me for the next year until the next show, the following year. I did meet some great people and made some wonderful friends, many of whom are now gone.

Here's a web site that posts shows. I didn't see but one in Texas and it seems to be about 4 hours from you.

Here's another web site, but they have the same show listed. I would think that as big as Texas is and as many fanciers as there are in the state, there would be more shows.
