My daughter brought home a pigeon that was brought into the pet store where she was working. The bird has been a pet its whole life and the store took it in since the owners were no longer able to care for it. It was at the store for a while with no one interested in it. My daughter felt sorry for the bird and I allowed her to bring it home. She is very sweet, except for when she has eggs! She really enjoys being with someone and loves to fly around the room. She seems healthy She currently lives in a very large cage and enjoys some flying time around the room every day. I can no longer house the bird (I have my mother moving into my house and I need the extra room) and my daughter seems allergic to it so I can't put it in her room. I would love for her to go to a home with someone who will care for her as a pet, perhaps with other pigeons. I am located in the Chicago NW suburbs. I have pictures, but can't figure out how to post them.
If you have any ideas on how to find this sweet bird a good home, please let me know.

Sure hope you are able to find a wonderful home. The Pigeon Talk site has lots of members and some are in your area.

Please let us know if you find a home!! We always worry, especially in cases like this where the pij is a house pet.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I can't believe my good fortune in finding Robin. If it weren't for these pigeon forums, I may never have found her. My daughter was upset, but she knew that we could never provide Pinkie the kind of environment she needed. We rent our house and building a coop in the yard was not going to be possible. She and I are both thrilled about the new home and life Pinkie has now.
